Here is the story of the Gavin’s (names have been changed.) After 2 years of infertility they recently decided to adopt. They are still in the waiting phase as they wait to be connected with a birth mom. Also hoping to still get pregnant.

1 storybook wedding (Married on Valentines Day! 2009)
1 husband (sales manager)
1 wife (medical assistant)
1 year as newlyweds
6 months TTC
1 Positive Pregnancy Test!
1 miscarriage at 7 weeks
4 more months TTC
1 visit with OB/GYN that specializes in infertility
1 million tests run on both of us
1 husband that passes with flying colors
1 laparoscopic surgery to evaluate possible endometriosis
1 diagnosis of endometriosis
1 “successful” surgery to remove adhesions on ovary/uterus
1 decision to pursue adoption while we decide if we want to do more invasive treatments, still hoping to conceive but open to adoption as well
1 overwhelming meeting at the adoption agency but decide to go forward
3,000 dollars to have our home study done and complete our profile
1 of about 45 profiles of intended parents waiting for a match at the adoption agency
Lots of long nights hoping we get a call or get pregnant on our own.
