Thanksgiving is Thursday.  So you may hear all about how thankful you are supposed to be.  But you are not pregnant, or you just and a miscarriage, or you have been trying to get pregnant for more than 2 years and this is the third Thanksgiving that you have to sit through listening to everyone telling you how thankful you are supposed to be.

And then you feel guilty, because you do have a lot to be thankful for.

Here’s the deal.  God knows how you really feel.  He knows how disappointed you are and how you are hurting.  He understands that this time of year is difficult.  You know that there are things you are thankful for and it really will help if you focus on those things BUT it is also OK to feel sad about your losses and the waiting.  Admit to God what you are struggling with.  He can help you through.  Do some prep work for your emotions before you are around a lot of friends and family.  Tomorrow I will post practical tips for dealing with this time of year.  For now just pray.  You can be thankful for what you have and still dream about the baby you long for in your future.
