Read this article from “Slate” Magazine.  I never considered that the doctors would be eligible for financial gain from our treatments (besides the direct payments for services).  We didn’t participate in a cost-sharing program because the idea was relatively new when we started but I believe that is the way to go.  Essentially you pay around $25,000 for three fresh cycles of IVF.  If a pregnancy and baby do not result you get a refund.  The gamble is if it works on the first try you will have “over-paid” but trust me you won’t care because you will be ecstatic to finally have a baby!  You can tell yourself the extra money is helping another family make their dream come true.  This system also encourages doctors to offer the best results.  Most clinics offer such a program if you qualify.  Look into it.
