I remember thinking, “If I don’t have a baby by next mother’s day I don’t know what I’m going to do!”  Then I would set goals on the anniversaries of losses, “If I’m not pregnant by the time of our miscarried babies’ due date that’s it!” without clarifying what “that’s it” meant.

I don’t think that helped me in my waiting.  It made it harder.  More pressure.  Sometimes setting a deadline can help us make decisions or get motivated but with infertility time is not your friend and deadlines can make time even more troublesome.

This Wednesday, to help with the waiting, journal about when deadlines have been helpful in your past and then how deadlines play a role in your infertility journey.
