I look at this as an opportunity to evaluate which countries we should be trying to establish adoption programs in. Of course the first initiative would be to help some of the poorest countries control population but until that occurs there seems to be many potential children that are not being provided for that would benefit from being adopted by a family in the U.S. We need to work on getting these children the care they need at the earliest possible stages. I believe all adoption programs should fight for getting children into adoptive families before they are 3 months old. Maybe we can start in some of these countries.
